Job Title: Legal Counsel - Labor and Employment
Location: Philadelphia (4 days per week in-office, 1 day remote)
Job Summary: Our client, a global manufacturing company is looking to hire a Labor and Employment Attorney to join their growing legal team. Located in Philadelphia, this attorney will be required to come into the office 4 days per week. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in national and international labor and employment law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a wide range of national and international labor and employment issues, including but not limited to HR matters, investigations, labor relations, union work, employee relations, wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and allegations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Represent the company in labor and employment disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
- Stay current on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and advise the company on potential impacts.
- Develop and deliver training programs for HR and management on labor and employment law topics.
- Assist in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the state bar.
- 5+ years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in providing legal advice and counsel on labor and employment matters.
- Strong background in HR and conducting investigations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
