Assistant General Counsel
Key Responsibilities:
Support the legal department's leadership in managing legal operations and overseeing matters across the organization.
Offer strategic legal and business guidance on a broad range of topics, including corporate governance, M&A, commercial contracts, IP, employment (domestic and international), and dispute resolution.
Design and execute legal strategies that align with organizational goals while minimizing risk.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, staying current with legal and regulatory developments.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contractual agreements.
Manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring efficient and effective use of external legal resources.
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the legal team to foster professional growth.
Work collaboratively with executive leadership and internal teams to proactively address legal considerations and support business initiatives.
Assist with governance matters, including board and committee support, material preparation, and legal counsel.
Engage in organizational planning and contribute to strategic decision-making as part of the leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
10+ years of legal experience, including tenure at a reputable law firm and/or within the in-house legal function of a large private or public company.
Demonstrated experience handling complex legal issues and delivering strategic counsel.
In-depth knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and risk mitigation practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proven leadership skills with a history of team development and mentorship.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and engaging with senior stakeholders.
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Capable of managing multiple high-priority projects in a dynamic environment with limited supervision.
Strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Legal experience within the technology sector.
Background in a senior in-house counsel or leadership legal role.
Familiarity with international legal frameworks, public company operations, and large-scale corporate transactions.
