Increased Start Rate Due to Optimised Hiring Process

One of the biggest challenges companies face when hiring is navigating the negotiation stage, and professionals accepting a counter-offer from their existing company.
We help companies negotiate this by ensuring a quick and seamless process that gives the talent confidence in their new opportunity.
Hear how we helped one organisation improve their onboarding to increase talent appointments.
The challenge
A leading energy company has worked alongside Larson Maddox for a year, growing their teams to stay ahead and meet the demands of ongoing projects. Their brand is, and remains, attractive to candidates, and their interview process was seamless, resulting in a large number of acceptances from senior talent. However, like most organisations, the journey to onboard new talent doesn’t stop when the candidates verbally accept the offer.
This company was successful in verbal acceptances, yet disjointed internal administration resulted in candidates waiting weeks between their last conversation with their prospective new employer and the contract coming through. This resulted in several accepted candidates dropping out of the process causing further internal burden.
The solution
We explored our client's internal processes, and highlighted and mapped out the candidate onboarding journey to understand where the clients' hiring managers, talent acquisition (TA) team, and human resources could leverage their position to onboard faster and more efficiently.
We undertook qualitative and quantitative research and presented our findings to the senior business partners with actionable steps to reduce the dropout rate. This included mapping the communication journey to identify opportunities to speed the delivery of the offer letter to candidates, automated communication on client's brand to build further buy-in, and a seamless handover from TA to HR.
The results
Today their acceptance vs. start date ratio has increased through implementing a consistent communication process between hiring managers and internal talent teams, with HR stepping in to provide an efficient onboarding experience. The client confirmed the collaboration along with transparent and constructive feedback made a crucial difference in their onboarding process.
