Senior Attorney - Energy Industry

Our client is seeking a Senior Attorney with specialized expertise in Environmental Health and Safety, Litigation, and Labor and Employment matters. This senior-level role will provide strategic legal support in these core areas while also addressing broader legal issues as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and employment-related legal frameworks, coupled with the ability to navigate complex legal challenges and provide leadership in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on Environmental Health and Safety, Litigation, and Labor and Employment matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Advise on regulatory compliance related to environmental and workplace safety standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant frameworks.

  • Lead and manage litigation matters, including developing case strategy, working with external counsel, and advising senior leadership on risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Counsel the organization on labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, and dispute resolution.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents and agreements related to EHS compliance, employment, and litigation.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and internal teams to identify and mitigate legal risks while supporting business objectives.

  • Oversee and manage relationships with external counsel to ensure efficient and effective legal representation.

  • Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws and regulations, providing proactive legal guidance to maintain compliance.

  • Deliver practical, business-oriented legal solutions while balancing legal risks and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.

  • 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on Environmental Health and Safety, Litigation, and Labor and Employment matters.

  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including OSHA, EPA, and employment laws.

  • Proven experience leading litigation and dispute resolution processes.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across departments.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
