Chief Counsel - Marketing & Sales
Our client, a leading global manufacturer, is looking to hire on a Chief Counsel, Marketing & Sales to join their Chicago office. This role will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal guidance and support to our marketing, sales, and trading teams on a global-scale. This position requires a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in commercial law, marketing regulations, and sales practices.
- Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice to the marketing and sales departments on a wide range of issues, including advertising, promotions, contracts, and intellectual property.
- Compliance: Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to marketing and sales initiatives, including vendor agreements, partnership contracts, and customer agreements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
- Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for marketing and sales teams on legal best practices, compliance requirements, and risk management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and product development, to align legal strategies with business objectives.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes related to marketing and sales activities, including litigation and arbitration.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in atleast (1) US state.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial law, with a focus on marketing and sales.
- Strong knowledge of advertising laws, consumer protection regulations, and intellectual property rights.
- Preference for candidates with experience in commodities and trading.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
