Commercial Counsel - Construction/Logistics

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, negotiate, and advise on contracts to minimize liability and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on commercial compliance policies.
  • Assess project risks and educate teams on legal risk mitigation.
  • Support sales teams and standardize both vendor and supply chain contracts.
  • Manage litigation strategy, external counsel, and e-discovery.
  • Ensure contractual rights and proper notices; train teams on claim evidence.
  • Assist with corporate governance and legal reporting.
  • Oversee regional legal matters, including liens, bonds, and guarantees.
  • Develop training materials and manage insurance claims.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels and maintain professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Law degree, U.S. law license in Virginia or eligibility for VA admission

  • Contract negotiation experience, preferably in logistics/construction

  • Ability to work in a technical, engineering-focused environment

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

  • Experience in corporate governance, intellectual property, or construction/software industries preferred
