Regulatory Counsel - FinTech
A growing and well-funded FinTech company located in the San Francisco Bay Area is looking to bring onboard a Regulatory Counsel to assist on a variety of legal matters for the firm as the company prepares several new product launches this upcoming year. This offers the chance to work directly alongside the Chief Legal Officer of the firm on a lean legal team, providing legal expertise related to mortgage and secured lending compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal expertise on compliance matters related to lending regulations (TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, UDAAP, etc)
- Ensuring that the launches of new mortgage and secured lending products are aligned with state and federal regulations
- Keeping up-to-speed with all new and ongoing regulatory policies on a state and federal level
- Assisting with third-party vendor risk management and assessment
- Taking on various other responsibilities ad-hoc as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from a top law school
- 3-5+ years of experience as an attorney either in-house or at a law firm, with expertise in mortgage and secured lending products
- Strong knowledge of lending laws and regulations
- Prior financial industry knowledge and experience with consumer lending
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities at once
- Local to the SF Bay Area and willingness to come onsite
