Associate General Counsel - A Role with Purpose
As Associate General Counsel, you will lead high-stakes transactions and provide expert legal guidance to support the company's growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. Your expertise in project finance and development will be instrumental in driving the clean energy transition. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you'll navigate complex deals, minimize risks, and help deliver innovative projects that make a lasting difference in the energy landscape.
- Your Impact:
- Negotiate and draft intricate financing agreements, including debt facilities and tax equity arrangements, to support successful project financing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, lenders, and investors to close transactions while ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
- Support project development activities such as permitting, interconnection, and land acquisition by drafting and negotiating EPC, PPA, and related contracts.
- Lead legal aspects of acquisitions and divestitures, including term sheet creation, purchase agreements, and due diligence processes.
- Advise on regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Partner with senior management to provide strategic legal counsel that aligns with business goals.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and ensure efficient resolution of legal matters.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks across various transactions and initiatives.
- Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar.
- 4+ years of experience in renewable energy project finance or development, ideally in-house or at a law firm specializing in energy transactions.
- Expertise in energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and the challenges specific to renewable projects.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully managing complex transactions.
