An electric power cooperative is looking to expand their intelligent and well-respected legal team with a Senior Corporate Counsel in the Atlanta, GA area. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiation, particularly with complex agreements and transactions, as well as regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to interact with and advise senior leadership across various departments.
The Senior Corporate Counsel will:
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and interpret complex procurement and construction agreements.
- Develop and maintain standard legal templates and processes, negotiating vendor requests for deviations from those templates.
- Support and supervise outside counsel on specialized regulatory compliance matters.
- Advise on compliance related to energy, construction, and highly regulated industries.
- Engage with senior leadership and clients at all levels, providing legal guidance across multiple departments.
The Senior Corporate Counsel must have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction law, with a strong focus on complex agreements and procurement.
- Proven proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts in high-stakes environments.
- Familiarity with legal matters related to energy, construction, plant development, engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, federal procurement, environmental regulations, and real estate.
