Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with commercial teams comprised of feasibility, development, finance, engineering and other disciplines to manage the development of renewable energy power generation projects from early-stage activities to commercial operations.
- Serve as both legal advisor and business partner to the project development team, providing highly commercial and creative solutions on business matters and project development
- Draft and negotiate key contracts related to project development, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, long-term service agreements (LTSAs) power purchase agreements (PPAs) and site control agreements.
- This is a cross-functional position that will provide legal support to the development, commercial and project execution teams while interfacing with the finance team to help support project financing.
- Provide legal support for M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiation, and execution of acquisition agreements.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of six (6) years of legal experience in the electric power generation or renewable energy sectors.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating PPAs, EPC contracts, equipment supply agreements, and other commercial agreements in the energy sector.
- Strong transactional background with demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
- Experience advising on regulatory compliance and risk management for large-scale energy projects.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
