The Vice President of Legal will act as a key strategic advisor, ensuring legal compliance, minimizing risk, and contributing to the overall business strategy. This role involves managing the in-house legal team and liaising with external counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Strategy: Develop and implement legal strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company's operations.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts and agreements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the in-house legal team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • External Relations: Liaise with external legal counsel and represent the company in legal matters.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  • Advisory Role: Provide legal advice to senior management on various matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in post acute care is preferred.
  • Minnesota License Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing legal teams and external counsel.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
