Our Client is a leading provider of solar energy solutions, committed to driving the transition to renewable energy. They specialize in the development, construction, and operation of solar projects that deliver clean, reliable, and cost-effective energy.

Position Overview: Our Client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements, interconnection agreements, and other solar project development agreements. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant legal experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate EPC agreements, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and other contracts related to solar project development.
  • Provide legal advice and support on all aspects of solar project development, including regulatory compliance, permitting, and financing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project development, engineering, and finance, to ensure legal and contractual compliance.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with solar projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the renewable energy sector.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations as needed.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company's business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a legal role, with a focus on EPC agreements, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and other solar project development agreements.
  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy industry, particularly solar energy.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in-house at a renewable energy company.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations related to solar energy projects.
  • Experience with project financing and tax equity structures.
