Senior Counsel

Position Overview: Our Client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements, interconnection agreements, and other solar project development agreements. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant legal experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate EPC agreements, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and other contracts related to solar project development.
- Provide legal advice and support on all aspects of solar project development, including regulatory compliance, permitting, and financing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including project development, engineering, and finance, to ensure legal and contractual compliance.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with solar projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the renewable energy sector.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations as needed.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company's business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a legal role, with a focus on EPC agreements, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and other solar project development agreements.
- Strong understanding of the renewable energy industry, particularly solar energy.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in-house at a renewable energy company.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations related to solar energy projects.
- Experience with project financing and tax equity structures.
