Senior Legal Negotiator

We are partnered with a well established Health System who is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Legal Negotiator to join their IS&T team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in negotiating IT business deals to promote cost savings, and have worked within a healthcare organization. This role involves negotiating and managing contract renewals and amendments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contract Development and Negotiation:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate IT contracts with healthcare providers, vendors, and suppliers.
    • Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
    • Manage contract renewals and amendments.
  2. Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work closely with internal departments such as legal, finance, and IT to align contract terms with organizational goals.
    • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues.
  3. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT contracts.
    • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
  4. Market Analysis and Strategy:

    • Conduct market research to inform contract negotiations.
    • Develop strategies to optimize contract terms and achieve cost savings.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of contract negotiations and agreements.
    • Prepare reports on contract performance and compliance.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
    • Advanced degrees or certifications in contract management or healthcare administration are a plus.
  2. Experience:

    • Previous experience in contract negotiation, preferably within the healthcare or IT sectors.
    • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  3. Skills:

    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Knowledge:

    • Understanding of healthcare IT systems and infrastructure.
    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in the healthcare industry.
