With over 25 years in operation, this company has helped over 20 million people manage their financial well-being and provided over $40 billion in consumer loans. Their products range from credit cards, retail credit, healthcare financing, and automotive financing.
The Company's legal team is looking for a driven Legal Assistant who is well-versed in the banking regulatory space. This Legal Assistant will support the legal team in navigating new proposed laws to assist the business and help support the launch of additional products.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in staying informed about banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
- Prepare and review related legal documents and agreements on existing and new financial products
- Support internal stakeholders on relevant legal matters relating to the company's financial products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, technology, marketing) to support the launch of new financial products
- Assist with coordinating outside counsel on litigation matters when necessary
- Conduct preliminary due diligence on potential M&A activity
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
- 2-4 years of relevant legal experience
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance
- Strong organizational and document management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
