Commercial Litigation Associate - NY
We have partnered with a leading Mid-Sized law firm seeking an outstanding lateral associate with 2-4 years of experience at a top law firm and a stellar academic record to join the Litigation group in its New York office.
The Firm's Litigation practice entails sophisticated commercial litigation and corporate and securities matters, contests for corporate control, shareholder disputes and broker-dealer disputes. The department also handles contracts, employment, intellectual property, bankruptcy and real estate litigation.
The candidate must have a strong litigation background and experience reviewing, analyzing and drafting litigation pleadings and motions in a complex commercial litigation practice, including experience within New York State courts.
A successful candidate must possess outstanding academic credentials and experience, a strong work ethic, and excellent writing and research skills.
Abilities and Skills needed:
- 2-4 years of litigation experience
- High level of academic achievement
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Confident, mature presence and speaking ability
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- New York State Court experience is a must
- Experience taking and defending depositions is a plus
- Knowledge of securities regulation and enforcement is a plus
- A dedicated interest in pursuing a long-term career as a litigator in private practice
- Admission to the New York bar is required
