Employment Counsel
A globally leading food manufacturer and distributor is seeking to hire an Employment Counsel who will play an integral part in ensuring compliance with California labor and employment laws. This person will also lead the Associate Relations function for the company's California division, allowing the opportunity for leadership and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on various employment matters and ensure compliance.
- Lead Associate Relations, handling employee issues fairly and legally.
- Investigate complex workplace concerns and advise on sensitive issues.
- Manage HR projects and collaborate on policy improvements.
- Administer benefits, monitor labor law changes, and deliver compliance training.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
- 2+ years of employment law experience.
- Knowledge of California labor laws and employment practices.
- Experience handling employee relations matters.
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
