Position Overview:
The Senior Corporate Counsel will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support on consumer finance, creditors' rights laws, litigation, bankruptcy, loan servicing, and financial services law. This individual will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and support the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and support on matters related to consumer finance and creditors' rights laws.
- Oversee and manage litigation, including handling bankruptcy and loan servicing issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks associated with financial services operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, and advise the company on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and other legal service providers.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various legal issues affecting the company.
- Support the legal team in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in [Relevant Jurisdiction].
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer finance, creditors' rights laws, litigation, bankruptcy, loan servicing, or financial services law.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations affecting the financial services industry.
