Our client, a rapidly growing Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) based in Orange County, California, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Leasing Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in commercial leasing, as well as experience in purchase and sale transactions and development work.
Responsibilities:
Leasing:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, amendments, and related documents.
- Provide legal advice and support on leasing matters to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to leasing activities.
- Manage lease disputes and work with property management to resolve tenant issues.
Purchase and Sale:
- Assist in the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements.
- Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Coordinate with external counsel and other parties involved in transactions.
Development:
- Provide legal support for real estate development projects.
- Review and negotiate development agreements, construction contracts, and other related documents.
- Advise on zoning, land use, and entitlement issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant leasing experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including leasing, purchase and sale, and development.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal work.
