Remote - Contracts Counsel, Medical Device
We are partnered with a global consulting firm specializing in the life sciences industry seeking a Contracts Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in the life science industry, preferably from a medical device company, and an understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape affecting life science companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and redline a broad range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor, licensing, contractor, and partnership agreements.
- Negotiate directly with clients and vendors to support business objectives.
- Assess legal and regulatory risks, including U.S. and international data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).
- Collaborate with in-house counsel to review contracts with minimal supervision.
- Support M&A activities, including drafting client/vendor communications during integrations.
- Provide timely legal guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Complete RFPs, RFIs, and vendor due diligence forms.
- Partner with client/project teams on pricing strategies, including rate cards, discounts, and rebates.
- Respond to internal inquiries on contract terms, including effective dates and pricing.
- Work with Compliance, HR, IT, and other internal stakeholders on legal matters.
- Mentor junior legal team members to enhance team performance.
- Perform administrative tasks, including document execution and electronic filing, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and 6+ years of experience, preferably in life sciences/pharma or medical device sales
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and contract law, including redlining, contract review, and negotiation
- Knowledge of healthcare, compliance, and privacy laws (e.g., Sunshine Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $145,000. Compensation for this role will vary based off the candidate's experience and location. In addition to base salary, candidates will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
