Position Overview
A global transportation company is seeking a highly motivated and business-oriented Commercial Counsel to join their legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, supply chain, service, technology, and partnership contracts.
- Support the M&A team by assisting with due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, and integration of acquired businesses.
- Provide legal counsel on general corporate matters, including regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business units, finance, compliance, and operations teams, to align legal strategies with company objectives.
- Assist in managing legal disputes, overseeing outside counsel, and handling contract enforcement issues as needed.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and evolving legal trends that may impact the transportation and logistics sector.
- Develop and implement best practices for contract management and risk mitigation.
Qualifications & Experience
- J.D. and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (or relevant foreign equivalent).
- 3-7 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, with a strong background in commercial contracts and exposure to M&A transactions.
- Experience within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, global business environment.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with a keen eye for detail and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
