A powerhouse in industrial and structural construction is looking to expand their legal team in Monroe, OH or Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This Corporate Counsel will bring 5 to 7 years of experience to join one of the most respected legal teams in the construction industry. This role will focus on both transactional and litigation work, particularly in managing disputes and claims arising from major industrial, structural, and restoration projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial transactions and construction-related litigation, providing critical legal support in the negotiation, drafting, and management of construction contracts, as well as handling disputes and claims related to project performance.
The Corporate Counsel will:
- Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of construction-related contracts, including construction subcontractor agreement, professional services contracts, supplier agreement, design and consultant agreement, joint venture and teaming agreement, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and other commercial contracts
- Provide legal support and strategic counsel on disputes and claims arising from construction projects, particularly in the industrial, structural, and restoration sectors.
- Lead the management of disputes, including claims related to construction performance, project delays, cost overruns, and contract breaches.
- Represent the company in dispute resolution processes, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and, when necessary, litigation. Work with external counsel to develop and implement litigation strategies.
The Corporate Counsel must have:
- J.D. (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
- 5 to 7 years of experience as corporate counsel or in-house counsel with a focus on both commercial transactions and construction-related litigation.
- Strong experience in handling construction-related disputes, including claims management, contract breaches, and performance issues, in industrial, structural, and restoration projects.
