Our client, known for their groundbreaking work in sports and entertainment, is currently seeking a Data Privacy Counsel to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing legal support and counsel related to data privacy, data transfer, and protection, with a focus on the data research and development (R&D) team. The ideal candidate will have experience in technology solutions, vendor and supplier management, and possess a strong understanding of data privacy regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance and support to the data R&D team, which primarily works with third-party vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Assist in the transfer and protection of data across platforms, both within the organization and with external parties.
- Utilize raw data for analysis and risk assessment, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Apply expertise in retail, FMCG, personal finance, and product channels to address legal issues specific to these industries.
- Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, leveraging knowledge of international data privacy laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- 15 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in data privacy and technology law.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and experience working with data R&D teams.
- Experience with data transfer and protection, including cross-platform data management.
- Previous experience working with retail, FMCG, and finance industries.
- Familiarity with vendor and supplier management and negotiation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English.

- The preferred location for this role is in Beijing, with a possibility of considering candidates in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
