We are working with a national healthcare provider operating a large network of hospitals and services across the country. They are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to take the lead on a wide variety of employment law matters, with a focus on litigation management and providing strategic counseling to senior leadership throughout the organization. This is a hybrid position (2 days/week on-site) and can be based at any of the organization's hospital locations.
Note: Locations across CA, NV, TX, AL, GA, KS, MO, IL, MI, OH, NJ, PA.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on employment issues including performance management, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and employee separations.
- Oversee and manage employment litigation matters, including coordinating with outside counsel and responding to administrative claims (EEOC, DFEH, etc.).
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements such as offer letters, separation agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
- Partner with HR and leadership to develop workplace policies, training, and compliance initiatives that mitigate legal risk.
- Stay current on developments in employment law and ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- JD and active bar membership in good standing.
- 6+ years of employment law experience (2+ YOE within a hospital setting).
- Significant experience managing employment litigation and handling administrative proceedings.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
