Summary
We are currently partnered with a large transportation system covering areas throughout North America. This iconic company is committed to innovation, safety, and customer service whilst continually staying on the brink of modern transportation.
This organization is expanding its legal function and looking for individuals with Tort Litigation experience and extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Handle personal injury claims during all phases of litigation and work alongside the legal team to develop and implement strategies
- Assess liability and damages exposures and make appropriate reserve and settlement recommendations.
- Conduct legal research, secure relevant evidence, develop trial strategies
- Prepare witnesses, conduct onsite inspections, draft jury charges, trial and post-trial motions and memoranda of law.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments as needed
Qualifications
- 2-8 years of experience in tort litigation
- JD from Accredited Law School
- Barred in New York State
- Exceptional analytical, verbal, writing, and negotiation skills and proven ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Proven ability to build and develop professional relationships necessary to litigation (i.e.: clients, adversaries, judiciary)
