We're partnered with a high-growth, early-stage HealthTech company that provides SaaS solutions to streamline pharmaceutical operations nationwide. They're looking to hire their first In-House Counsel to provide comprehensive legal guidance across a wide range of business and regulatory matters. This is an exciting opportunity to shape this company's legal function while working on cutting-edge healthcare and technology issues.
Note: this is a hybrid opportunity (2-4 days on-site per week) in the San Antonio area. Open to candidates in San Antonio, Austin, or those willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on general business matters, including corporate governance, commercial agreements, and strategic initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including vendor, customer, and partnership agreements.
- Advise on healthcare regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state laws, including HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulations.
- Support HR and employment matters, including policies, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws.
- Assist with customer audit responses and risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with business development teams to evaluate legal risks and structure deals effectively.
- Manage relationships with outside counsel on specialized legal matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally in healthcare, technology, or SaaS-related industries.
- Strong background in commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal matters.
- Experience navigating healthcare laws and regulations is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Fast learner with a proactive mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
