Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing or working for contractors and will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of operations, including litigation and construction contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigation Management: Handle all litigation matters involving the company, including disputes with clients, subcontractors, and other parties.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including construction and environmental regulations.
- Legal Advice: Provide legal advice to senior management and other departments on various legal issues.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for staff on legal issues related to construction and contract management.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction law, preferably with experience representing or working for contractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
