We have partnered with a leading, family-owned wholesale distributor looking to bring on a Vice President, General Counsel. They specialize in delivering products ranging from grocery and dairy to health and beauty products in the Northeast
The General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing legal operations for the entire organization and touch on matters related to M&A, supply chain, compliance, real estate and more. This role will provide strategic legal guidance to the executive team and report directly to the CEO, President, Chairman of the Board.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, including M&A, contracts, employment law, and regulatory compliance
- Lead M&A activity
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements including partnering with sales teams on development of supply agreements
- Oversee and manage all legal matters, including litigation, IP, and risk management.
- Manage outside counsel
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience preferably within the distribution, manufacturing or supply chain industries
- Experience in a leadership role such as Associate GC, Deputy GC or General Counsel
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience
- JD from an accredited university
- Strong knowledge of corporate law including M&A
