Position Overview:
The Senior Capital Markets Attorney will play a crucial role in structuring transactions and executing deals for the company's extensive consumer loan portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of structured finance transactions and the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in structured finance transactions within a reputable law firm or a consumer finance setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and structure complex finance transactions, including securitizations, warehouse financing, and other capital markets activities related to the consumer loan portfolio.
- Lead the execution of transactions, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and effectively manage the closing process.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents related to structured finance transactions, including transaction agreements, offering documents, and other related materials.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulatory developments and ensure all transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Work closely with internal teams, including finance, compliance, and operations, to provide legal guidance and support for capital markets activities.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with structured finance transactions, ensuring the protection of the company's interests.
- Liaise with external counsel to efficiently manage legal resources and control costs related to capital markets transactions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience with structured finance transactions at a reputable law firm or in a consumer finance setting.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in at least one state.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of structured finance, securitization, and capital markets.
- Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in legal documentation and transaction management.
