My client is seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Attorney to join their in house legal team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance, risk management, and policy development. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant laws. The Healthcare Regulatory Attorney will provide legal guidance to ensure the hospital system's operations comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on healthcare regulatory matters, including compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across the hospital system.
- Conduct internal audits and investigations to identify and address compliance issues.
- Advise on matters related to patient privacy, data security, and HIPAA compliance.
- Review and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current on changes in healthcare laws and regulations and advise the organization on potential impacts.
- Provide training and education to staff on regulatory compliance and legal issues.
- Collaborate with other departments, including risk management, compliance, and clinical operations, to address legal and regulatory concerns.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant laws.
