A growing Real Estate Development Company is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to provide critical support to the firm's lean team of attorneys in litigation management related to the recent acquisition of properties in Southern California. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, competent and able to manage a high volume of cases. This is a fully onsite role in Long Beach, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting legal research
- Assisting attorneys in drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Coordinating with clients and gathering evidence, including documents, witness statements, and deposition transcripts.
- Managing court deadlines and ensuring timely and accurate filing of court documents in compliance with judicial procedures.
- Organizing and maintaining case files, records, and databases.
- Preparing attorneys for trial, including coordinating court appearances, scheduling witnesses and experts, assembling trial exhibits, and creating presentation slides for oral arguments. Occasionally assisting during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, reviewing trial transcripts, and managing electronic presentation aids.
- Preparing for depositions and other legal proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field and certification from a legal assistant or paralegal program
- At least two years of experience in a paralegal role, with a preference for experience in litigation and/or real estate.
- Willingness to come onsite to Long Beach, CA office 5x a week
