You will work with a Labor & Employment Practice Group that has been helping companies navigate labor and employment laws for over 100 years. The group works with clients across diverse industries, including manufacturing, health care, financial institutions, education, construction, and transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court hearings, presenting arguments and evidence to support their case.
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, depositions, and document production, to gather and exchange information relevant to the case.
- Write legal motions and briefs to support various procedural and substantive aspects of the case, such as motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and motions in limine.
- Develop trial strategies, organize evidence, prepare witnesses, and create trial exhibits to effectively present the case in court.
- Independently handle employment litigation cases, making strategic decisions, managing case timelines, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures without significant oversight.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in employment litigation
- Excellent academic credentials
- Knowledge of State and Federal fair employment laws, wage-hour laws, FMLA, and related laws
- Experience with case preparation before state and federal agencies and courts
- Ability to handle responsibilities independently
