Our client, a Fortune 500 in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a labor & employment Counsel to join their legal team in Chicago. Candidates should have 3-10 years of labor & employment experience, along with experience with class action, wage & hour, EEOC, FMLA/FLSA, & 1st or 2nd chair litigation experience.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including but not limited to employee relations, workplace policies, compliance, and litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, such as employment contracts, severance agreements, and non-compete clauses.
- Represent the company in labor and employment disputes, including handling litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
- Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints, discrimination, harassment, and other workplace issues.
- Advise on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for HR and management on employment law topics.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure alignment on employment practices and policies.
- Stay current on changes in labor and employment law and proactively address potential impacts on the company.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 3-10 years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
- Experience with labor relations, collective bargaining, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, wage & hour, class action, harassment, discrimination, & EEOC charges.
- Background in handling employment litigation and dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.

- Salary range is dependent on experience, average range is: 170,000 - 230,000
