My client is a leading energy firm, and we are recruiting for a Legal Counsel to be based in the Singapore office. You will have the opportunity to support the business on all legal matters across renewable energy and LNG projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to major gas/LNG and renewable energy projects, including LNG SPAs
- Advise on engineering, procurement, and construction-related contracts
- Provide legal support throughout the life cycle of large-scale projects: NDAs, bidding/tendering, contract negotiations, and execution phases
- Offer sound advice on legal risks and mitigation solutions
- Handle general corporate and commercial matters, ensuring contracts protect the company's interests
- Manage disputes and contentious matters with external counsel and the management team
- Support M&A transactions, investments, and other strategic corporate transactions
- Ensure internal legal policies are understood and implemented; provide training to internal clients and colleagues
Key Qualifications:
- LL.B or equivalent, qualified in Singapore or a common-law country
- 10-15 years PQE with experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for gas/LNG and renewable energy projects
- Experience in handling infrastructure project disputes and resolution processes
