A top tier contractor is looking for an experienced Litigation Counsel with a minimum of 5 years of construction litigation experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the identification, evaluation, and resolution of various construction claims, including delay claims, scope changes, extra work claims, personal injury claims, and construction defect claims. Additionally, this role will involve providing support in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure effective risk management.
This Litigation Counsel will:
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve construction-related claims, including but not limited to delay claims, scope changes, extra work claims, personal injury claims, and construction defect claims.
- Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on construction litigation matters and risk management.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement dispute resolution strategies.
- Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure robust risk management provisions are in place.
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to construction law and litigation.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting construction litigation.
The Litigation Counsel must have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract law, and relevant legal principles.
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation cases and resolve disputes effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
