An innovative and rapidly growing company within the utilities and renewable energy sector is seeking an experienced Paralegal. The company specializes in delivering energy solutions that span commercial and industrial electricity, gas, solar power, and other emerging clean energy technologies. The Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the legal and business teams, ensuring legal compliance, and facilitating transactions that drive the development and success of renewable energy projects, including solar installations and energy efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct support to legal counsel and business departments on matters involving commercial and industrial energy services, renewable energy project development, and other clean energy ventures.
- Manages the structuring, tracking, and monitoring of project transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining legal process controls through contract templates and audits.
- Drafts, reviews, and finalizes a wide variety of legal documents, including amendments, assignment agreements, bills of sale, default notices, settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and estoppel certificates.
- Conducts initial review of key legal documents, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), commodity sales agreements, real estate contracts, construction agreements, and service contracts related to energy projects.
- Reviews title work, surveys, and legal descriptions, identifying and resolving issues related to title ownership, exceptions, and curative actions.
- Prepares and records real estate documentation essential to the development and financing of solar and renewable energy projects.
- Conducts legal research and prepares memos at the direction of in-house counsel, supporting strategic business decisions and market expansions.
- Prepares, manages, and maintains closing checklists and deliverables related to renewable energy financing transactions, including asset purchases, sales, and mergers.
- Performs due diligence research on various platforms and supports new market entries by researching regulations from public utility commissions and state licensing requirements.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with internal business clients, investors, contractors, vendors, and customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across projects.

- A minimum of four years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for experience in industries such as real estate, construction, utilities, or energy.
