An established leader in the renewable energy and energy storage sector is seeking a qualified Real Estate Paralegal to assist its Legal department in managing complex real estate transactions. This individual will work directly with senior legal professionals and cross-functional teams to support the company's extensive portfolio of energy infrastructure projects across the United States. This position is open to candidates based in either New York City or Palm Beach County, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and manage the execution of real estate agreements, including but not limited to licenses, option agreements, leases, easements, and related amendments, memoranda, and terminations.
- Oversee the coordination of project timelines, including managing title searches, schedule B items, and title curative actions to ensure alignment with project deadlines.
- Review and manage title commitments, exception documents, surveys, and endorsements, liaising with external title companies and surveyors to resolve issues and secure necessary revisions.
- Ensure effective document management throughout the real estate process, including securing final signatures, compiling original documents, and maintaining data integrity within company systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate the procurement of third-party consents and agreements, ensuring that compliance requirements are communicated and adhered to by both internal teams and external contractors.
- Manage the execution and timely recording of jurisdictional documents, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of organizational and authority documents, ensuring their alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, development, permitting, and construction teams to ensure all real estate transactions and land-related matters proceed smoothly from inception to project completion.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in real estate and title transactions, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex matters efficiently.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also thriving in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience within the renewable energy sector is strongly preferred, particularly involving land acquisition and title review processes for energy projects.
- A strong understanding of transactional documentation, closing mechanics, and the ability to manage various document types related to real estate.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- A Bachelor's degree or commensurate corporate experience in real estate or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across various internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Superior analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to draft and review legal documents accurately and thoroughly.
