We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Generalist Paralegal to join our growing legal team at a leading biotechnology company in San Francisco. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across a wide range of matters, including intellectual property, corporate governance, contract management, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:
Intellectual Property Support: Assist with patent filings, patent prosecution, trademark registrations, and IP-related contracts. Coordinate with outside counsel on IP matters.
Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage a variety of contracts, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), material transfer agreements (MTAs), research collaboration agreements, and licensing agreements.
Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance matters such as board resolutions, corporate filings, and preparation of meeting materials. Assist with maintaining corporate records and compliance with applicable laws.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, including FDA and environmental regulations.
Litigation Support: Assist with document management and discovery processes related to ongoing or potential litigation.
General Legal Assistance: Provide general administrative and legal support to in-house attorneys, including organizing files, conducting legal research, and preparing legal summaries and reports.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory affairs, business development, and finance teams to support the legal needs of the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
At least 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors.
Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, contract law, and corporate governance.
Experience with regulatory compliance, especially in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and legal research tools.
High attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic work environment.
