Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Partner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a portable book of business, a track record of advising clients on complex labor and employment matters, and a proven ability to generate and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on employment policies, compliance, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour laws, and labor relations.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, administrative proceedings (EEOC, NLRB, DOL, etc.), and other dispute resolution forums.
- Advise on union negotiations, collective bargaining, grievances, and workplace investigations.
- Handle high-stakes employment litigation, including class and collective actions.
- Develop and expand client relationships while cross-selling firm-wide services.
- Mentor and collaborate with associates and other team members to enhance the firm's labor and employment practice.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Illinois.
- 10+ years of labor and employment law experience, preferably at an Am Law 200 firm or reputable boutique practice.
- A portable book of business (at least 500k).
- Strong litigation and trial experience in employment disputes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with corporate clients and HR professionals in a variety of industries.
