Our client, an elite Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance carrier based in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Privacy Counsel to join their legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in privacy and data protection laws, particularly the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise the business on all privacy matters, ensuring compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and other relevant privacy laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive privacy policies and procedures.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate privacy considerations into business processes and projects.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments and enforcement actions related to privacy and data protection.
- Manage data breach response and notification processes.
- Provide training and raise awareness on privacy and data protection issues among employees.
- Represent the company in privacy-related matters and liaise with regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
- At least 3 years of relevant privacy experience at an established law firm or within a sophisticated in-house setting.
- In-depth knowledge of CCPA, GDPR, and other privacy laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
