A Fortune 500 retail company is seeking a skilled Real Estate Counsel to manage and advise on property transactions, including retail sites, distribution centers, and other corporate locations. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex real estate negotiations and collaborate with internal teams on strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate agreements, including leases, purchase and sale contracts, development agreements, and amendments.
- Advise on lease terms, operational issues, construction matters, and landlord/tenant disputes.
- Conduct title and survey reviews, identifying environmental risks and potential liabilities.
- Collaborate with external counsel and assist with real estate-related litigation.
- Support zoning, permitting, and land use matters in partnership with local counsel.
Qualifications:
- JD degree from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar membership.
- 8-10 years of real estate law experience, ideally with retail leasing and development expertise.
- Proven ability to negotiate large-scale commercial property transactions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
