A major general contractor with a strong presence in civil construction, vertical construction, and the renewable and environmental sectors. They are seeking a Regional Counsel to support our legal needs across multiple projects and regions. The ideal candidate will manage litigation, draft and negotiate various agreements, and provide legal support for our construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with legal standards and protecting the company's interests.
The Regional Counsel will:
Oversee and manage all aspects of litigation related to construction projects, including claims, disputes, and negotiations with external counsel.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including EPC agreements, design-build contracts, service agreements, and subcontractor agreements.
Provide expert legal advice to project managers and executives on construction law, risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with construction projects.
Conduct training sessions for internal teams on legal issues, compliance, and best practices in contract management.
The Regional Counsel must have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in Illinois.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction law, with a focus on litigation management and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local construction regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
