Principal Responsibilities
- Support Compliance and Legal with ongoing operational business integration initiatives.
- Assist with the implementation and enhancement of the compliance program for the Asia Pacific region.
- Coordinate with fund accounting, corporate accounting services teams, and other service providers including external regulatory counsels, fund administrators, tax advisors, compliance consultants, and company secretaries to ensure timely completion and submission of reports, surveys, and other information requests to government agencies and regulators in the Asia Pacific region.
- Assist with fund registrations and ensure compliance with ongoing reporting obligations in relevant jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, Singapore, Korea, and Japan.
- Implement regional compliance training plans and deliver new hire and periodic compliance trainings.
- Prepare SFC notifications and other submissions for licensed representatives in Hong Kong.
- Onboard Asia Pacific investors in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ongoing corporate governance and regulatory requirements in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Australia, China, Cayman Islands, and India.
- Coordinate with fund accounting, corporate accounting services teams, and other service providers to ensure all legal entities in the region comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure fundraising and investor relation activities in Asia comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist with KYC screening, marketing material review, tracking of continuous professional training, email surveillance, etc.
Requirements

- Sound judgment and ability to work and partner with other functions and the business team.
- Preferably prior legal or compliance experience.
- Preferably a law degree from a well-respected law school and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
- Preferably familiarity with AML/KYC requirements.
- Proven communication skills.
- Organized and attentive to details.
