Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel specializing in Procurement and Construction to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating and drafting complex contracts related to procurement and construction projects within the renewable energy industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Lead negotiations and drafting of various procurement and construction agreements, including EPC contracts, supply agreements, and subcontractor agreements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with procurement and construction activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Project Support: Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and development to execution and completion, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle disputes and claims arising from procurement and construction contracts, working to achieve timely and favorable resolutions.
- Legal Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the renewable energy sector, advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior members of the legal team, fostering their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field; Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
- Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on procurement and construction within the renewable energy industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiating and drafting complex contracts, including EPC agreements, supply contracts, and subcontractor agreements.
- Strong understanding of project finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance in the renewable energy sector.
