Position Overview:
The company is seeking an experienced Employment/Employee Relations Attorney to advise on workplace matters and support organizational growth. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and the General Counsel, this role will provide strategic legal counsel to the HR team while ensuring compliance across a multistate workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law, regulatory compliance, and employee relations, with the ability to proactively address challenges and foster a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advisor to HR: Provide expert legal guidance to the HR team on employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance matters.
- Multi-State Employment Law: Navigate employment law in multiple states, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations, including multistate licensing requirements.
- Employee Relations: Oversee investigations and provide legal oversight for disciplinary actions, including write-ups, suspensions, and terminations.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training sessions on organizational practices, regulatory compliance, and state-specific employment laws for management and staff.
- Conflict Resolution: Advise on grievances and conflicts, providing legal counsel to minimize risk.
- Policy and Compliance: Draft and review workplace policies to align with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active New York State Bar membership.
- Experience practicing employment law in the healthcare/healthtech space.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on employee relations and compliance.
