Job Description: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Attorney to join our client's legal team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support on matters related to health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks associated with the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on HSE matters, including regulatory compliance, risk management, and litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to HSE issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies.
- Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, hearings, and negotiations related to HSE matters.
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and training programs in collaboration with internal departments.
- Monitor and interpret changes in HSE laws and regulations, advising the company on potential impacts.
- Conduct internal investigations related to HSE incidents and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and risk management, to address HSE concerns.
- Manage external legal counsel and coordinate with them on specialized HSE legal matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state where the company is located.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience with a focus on health, safety, and environmental law.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards in the energy industry.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
