Position Overview: A reputable and growing real estate brokerage and property mangement company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will provide legal support across various real estate matters, including transactions, compliance, and risk management. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and other departments to navigate complex legal issues and contribute to the company's strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review, negotiation, and drafting of real estate contracts, leases, purchase and sale agreements, and financing documents.
- Provide legal advice on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations affecting real estate operations.
- Conduct legal research and analyze case law to advise on potential risks and liabilities.
- Collaborate with external counsel on litigation matters and manage disputes as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
- Assist in the management of corporate governance and other corporate matters.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal and regulatory issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in real estate law, including transactional and compliance matters.
- Strong understanding of real estate principles, contracts, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
