The Senior Corporate Counsel, Labor and Employment plays a pivotal role in providing legal advice and support on labor relations and employment matters. Working closely with Human Resources and other departments, this position involves creating and implementing strategic initiatives, analyzing trends, and delivering training to internal teams. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting the field HR team with labor relations issues such as negotiations, grievance handling, and employee engagement.
Providing strategic advice on HR policies, procedures, and practices.
Leading projects related to hiring, talent development, compliance, and diversity initiatives.
Managing external legal counsel to ensure efficient case handling.
Offering guidance and training on labor relations and employment law.
Ensuring compliance with labor and employment regulations and identifying areas for improvement.
Overseeing legal correspondence and managing litigation and arbitration processes.
This role reports to the VP, Chief Labor and Employment Counsel and offers a hybrid remote work setup based in Oak Brook, Illinois.

The right fit will have:
Possession of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in good standing, with preference for Illinois licensure.
Demonstrated track record of successfully negotiating labor agreements.
Previous in-house legal experience is preferred.
Familiarity with AmLaw 100 firms is advantageous.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in labor law and employment law.
Strong analytical skills for navigating complex legal issues.
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities to engage effectively with stakeholders.
