A leading Public REIT managing a global portfolio of commercial real estate assets is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their NYC location. This role will primarily focus on both real estate and general corporate legal matters and provide a significant opportunity for growth. The Associate General Counsel will also assist with the preparation and filing of SEC reports as well as other day-to-day operations across the Public REIT's lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for the company's real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing activities.
- Assist with periodic SEC reports and advise on corporate governance matters, including board and committee activities and shareholder communications.
- Advise on financing transactions, including debt offerings, securitizations, and other transactions including M&A activity.
- Provide counsel on general corporate matters, including employment law and intellectual property and provide oversight on litigation and dispute resolution matters.
Required Skills:
- J.D., Bar membership and 7+ years of real estate investment, governance and corporate transactional experience.
- Experience with filings and reporting under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a public company.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with executive presence and work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands and projects simultaneously.
