Our client is seeking a Compliance Director candidate who is experienced in Regulatory Payments to ensure adherence to global rules and regulations affecting bank card payments and electronic transfers. You will be tasked with analyzing and enforcing regulations across all aspects and levels of the business, as well as providing guidance on compliance matters. Candidates should have a strong understanding of global payments legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Compliance, Audit, and Regulatory Risk
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Thorough understanding of standards and regulations in the payments industry
- Independent and self-motivated
- Strong business acumen coupled with legal dedication and critical thinking
- Methodical, detailed, and diligent planner
- Analytical mindset adept at understanding complex procedures and regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of drafting policies in rapidly changing environments
- Capable of managing multiple assignments and prioritizing in fast-paced settings
- Bachelor's degree, JD preferred
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret newly established rules and regulations impacting the payments industry, offering compliance recommendations.
- Coordinate and carry out internal audit programs and assessments to ensure their efficacy and pinpoint any deficiencies.
- Evaluate internal and external audit findings, taking proactive steps to address any shortcomings or areas for improvement.
- Assess the compliance risks associated with the introduction of new products and services within the business.
- Develop, adjust, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to identify and rectify risks or deviations from banking obligations, card brand requirements, ACH mandates, and global payment regulations.
- Operate independently while fostering collaborative relationships with business partners, financial institutions, legal teams, and other key stakeholders.
- Review and assess the compliance efforts of colleagues or risk management teams, providing guidance or training as necessary to maintain high standards of work quality.
- Stay informed about evolving global payment regulations, best practices, and controls, including UDAP, Telemarketing Sales Rule, NACHA regulations, state, federal, and global consumer protection laws, and licensing regulations.
- Prepare and present reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as needed.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days in office. Salary is based upon experience, and we are looking for an independent, self-starter who feels comfortable with their own abilities to conduct research and preparations.
