A subsidiary of a power and construction company is looking for a Senior Contracts Specialist to join their dedicated team. This role will be pivotal in managing the full lifecycle of contracts, from drafting and negotiation to execution and administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling a variety of contracts including subcontracts, change orders, statements of work, letters of intent, surety bonds, and other contractual documents within the power or construction industry.
The Senior Contracts Specialist will:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including subcontracts, change orders, statements of work, letters of intent, and surety bonds.
- Ensure contract compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and legal counsel to resolve contractual issues and mitigate risks.
- Facilitate contract review and approval processes, ensuring timely execution and adherence to project timelines.
- Monitor contract performance, amendments, and modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters, including interpretation of contractual terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation, ensuring proper filing and organization of contractual obligations.
The Senior Contracts Specialist must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager) is a plus.
- Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in contract management, with specific experience in the power or construction industry preferred.
- Proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts and agreements.
- Strong understanding of legal principles and contract law applicable to construction projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
